👉 This project is about creating a fully standalone FM earbud. Earlier versions included a compact FM radio with a touch display and an earbud version that needed reprogramming to change channels. In the current design, the MCU and user interface are built directly into the earbud, so it can change channels and adjust volume on its own using a single switch. The design is small enough to fit inside an earbud, with a wire coil acting as an antenna. The battery is small, limiting listening time, but the earbud can be reconfigured to hold a larger battery if needed. This is the smallest working system in the series so far, though it requires surface-mount soldering skills.
👉The components required to develop this project are -
~ 2PIN-PAD-SMD
~ HDK-100832-011 Speaker
~ SPST slide switch
~ Push button
~ ATTINY412
~ RDA5807
~ 30–50 mAh TWS bud battery
~ 10µF capacitor
~ IC Programmer Arduino/UPDI Programmer
👉The step-by-step process of building the project involves -
1. Slide the SPST switch to ON to power the ATtiny412 and RDA5807
2. Press the pushbutton briefly (less than 2 seconds) to seek the next FM channel
3. Press and hold the pushbutton for 2 seconds to seek the previous FM channel
4. Press and hold the pushbutton for 10 seconds to increase the volume (up to 15)
5. Press and hold the pushbutton for 30 seconds to decrease the volume (down to 0)
6. All changes are automatically saved to EEPROM memory
