The Philadelphia 76ers finally got Joel Embiid, Paul George and Tyrese Maxey on the floor together and somehow still found a way to lose a game they should’ve won as the Hawks were without Trae Young and Kristaps Porzingis. This was Embiid’s first game back since early November, Edgecombe returned from calf soreness and the offense looked great until the Sixers gave up a 13–0 run to open the 4th quarter.
Maxey took over late, but missed two free throws to ice the game in the first overtime, Jalen Johnson then answered with clutch free throws of his own and the Hawks out-gritted the Sixers in double OT. This should’ve been a momentum-building win. Instead, it exposed how far this team has to go.
