Photographing the Rockies: Finding Charlie's Valley

In late August 2021, I spent 3 days exploring the Slate Creek area of Summit County, CO. I was inspired by an audio recording from 1980 of Rancher Charlie Lund describing the valley in an interview available from the American Folklife. At the time of my visit, Colorado was experiencing numerous wildfires as well as an influx of smoke from fires in the surrounding western states.
