प्रयागराज माघ मेले के दौरान स्वामी अविमुक्तेश्वरानंद को शंकराचार्य पद के दावे को लेकर मेला प्रशासन ने नोटिस जारी किया है। प्रशासन ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट के आदेश का हवाला देते हुए स्पष्टीकरण मांगा है कि किन आधार पर वे ‘शंकराचार्य’ का उपयोग कर रहे हैं। स्वामी ने नोटिस को सुप्रीम कोर्ट की अवमानना करार देते हुए पलटवार किया है और कानूनी कार्रवाई की चेतावनी भी दी है। विवाद ने धार्मिक और प्रशासनिक टकराव को जन्म दिया है।
