In the 3rd Week of Purattasi Special Bhajans by The Mulund Bhajana Samaj, today we will be having Namasankeerthanam by 4 artists.
1. Sri. O. S. Mukundan Bhagavathar is the paternal grandson of Sangeetha Bhushanam, Acharya Choodamani late Shri O V Subramanain and had his formal training in carnatic music from him right from the tender age of five. He is also the son of Bhagavatha Shironmani Shri O S Sundar who is a well known bhagavathar in the sampradhaya bhajan style of music. Born in a music family, Mukundan had a natural flair for divine music and started taking part in various music festivals and bhajan melas right from his childhood. Today @ 6pm he is presenting Namasankeerthanam on Guru, Ashtapathy & Bhadrachala Ramdas Krithis.
2. Mst. Harish Mani & Girish Styanarayanan Bhagavathar have learnt Sampradaya bhajan from Shri. Satya Bhagavatar while he was in Dombivli, Mumbai. Today everyone in their group is professionally qualified and are working and they have been conducting Divyanamasankeerthanam and Seethakalyanam/Radhakalyanam at various places. Today @ 7pm they will be continuing Sampradaya Bhajans.
3. Born in Bengaluru, Vidushi Lakshmi Rajesh developed interest in music and dance at a very early age. Her mother Late Smt Ranganayaki Subramanian gave her the initial training and later put me on under the tutelage of Vidushi. H.N. Meera (disciple of Maestro Sri. R.K. Srikantan) who trained her in Carnatic music, Kannada Bhavageete & Purandara Dasa Kritis. She has graduated in Carnatic Music (B.A. Music) from University of Madras. Today @ 8pm she will be presenting Purandaradasa Krithis.
4. Sri Manikandan is the Grandson of Pallasena Shri. Ramanatha Guruswamy and Son of Sri. Narayanamoorthy mama, fondly known as Kirathamoorthy Guruswamy. Sri. Manikandan has been into Lord Ayyppan Shlokams and bhajans right from childhood through his father. His initial learnings have been under Sri. Manjappara Mohan. Sri. Vitthaldas Maharaj of Govindapuram blessed Sri. Manikandan’s Group as “Shree Vittal Bhajan Mandali”. Today @ 8:25pm he will be presenting a Dhyana Bhajan on Lord Ayyappan.
