Ball State Sports Link in partnership with the Ball Brothers Foundation and Project Leadership hosted the world premiere of ICE LEAGUE: THE FIRST SEASON at Ball State University’s Letterman Communications and Media Building April 27.
The league was made up of 69 student-athletes spread across eight teams. Kids with a grade-point average of 2.5 or higher were eligible to play in all four quarters of games; GPAs between 2.3 and 2.49, two quarters; and 2.0 to 2.29, one quarter.
The league kicked off with draft day Feb. 7 at Central and games were played in the Muncie Fieldhouse.
The documentary follows Muncie’s ICE League teams from Draft Day to the final Championship Tournament as the players work to improve their performance on the court and in the classroom.
