We SAVED This Horse For Last...Here's Why

We can’t believe it… our holiday Advent Calendar has come to an end.

For 24 days, we shared one horse a day — from our beautiful Missouri Fox Trotter herd, to our mini horses and mini donkeys, and even our Clydesdales.

But for Day 24, we saved the most special horse of all.

Meet Oliver. 🤍

Oliver is the heart of this channel. He’s the reason we’re all here, and he continues to be the driving force behind everything we do at Homestead Horsemanship. Loved by millions, Oliver’s story is one we will never forget.

Oliver came into our lives as a yearling, just turning two. We first saw him at a local auction — not planning to buy, just there to look. JR decided it would be fun to find the best horse at the auction, a true diamond in the rough. The moment he saw Oliver, he knew. Even though Oliver stood there sad and forlorn, head hanging low, JR could see past it and knew there was something incredibly special about him.

We didn’t get Oliver that day.

He went past our bid and ended up a no-sale.
But we couldn’t stop thinking about him.
After sharing the story with all of you, the outpouring of support, encouragement, and prayers pushed us to keep searching. That search led us all the way to Texas. And we made the drive to bring our boy home.

When we found him, Oliver was in even worse shape — very sick with EPM. We got him just in time. With proper nourishment, medical care, treatment, and the overwhelming love and prayers from this community, Oliver made a miraculous recovery.

Today, Oliver is thriving and living out his life right here at Homestead Horsemanship, where he belongs.
