The festival of Raksha Bandhan is an Indian festival that celebrates the relationship between brothers and sisters. Rakhi is a sacred thread, considered to be the 'bond of protection' is a special tie that binds them in a bond of joy forever.

Sisters tie a Rakhi (the sacred thread) by a sister on her brother's wrist. They put a red tilak on the brother's forehead and offer sweets and chocolates. They wish for the prosperity of their brothers.

How to write a Descriptive Paragraph Festival

A paragraph is a group of sentences expressing a series of connected thoughts upon a single topic. The idea, the theme, the argument or the main point of the topic is sufficiently amplified in the body of the paragraph. A paragraph can stand by itself because it is the development of a single main thought, idea or experience.

 Features of a Good Paragraph -

 1. Unity. All the sentences in the paragraph must bring out only one main fact, thought or idea.
2. Coherence - Write only the relevant points -- avoid irrelevant details   Examples or events which have no connection with the topic should not be written. A paragraph must present a logical (point by point) development of the topic. 
3. Emphasis. The key sentence of the paragraph should, as far as possible, be the first sentence. In order to create a proper impression on the reader, each sentence should be given its due importance. We must frame it in such a way that it catches the reader's attention immediately. Arguments should be expanded on the basis of the key sentence and the paragraph should be given a clear conclusion.
4. Variety. Sentences in a paragraph should have variety of length structure, otherwise they will appear monotonous.
Parts of a paragraph 

beginning - introduction -- key sentence that states the topic
middle - supports the topic by elaborating it with arguments, examples
end - concluding sentence that sums up

It should have a clear conclusion.

A descriptive paragraph is written when we are asked to write a description of something  like a person, place, onject or event.

Other Tips 

1. A descriptive paragraph provides a vibrant experience for the reader through vivid language and descriptions of something. 


2. It does not need to include personal thoughts, feelings, and growth by the writer.


3.  Instead, it must focus on vividly and objectively describing something to the reader. 


4. In order to provide this vivid detail,  use language that appeals to the reader’s five senses: sight, smell, sound, taste, and touch.


 5. To appeal to these senses, use descriptive language, usually in the form of adjectives, that describe these sensations.
