A tale of two guitars – one melody, two souls.
Sometimes, music doesn’t come from your fingers — it rises from somewhere quieter, deeper.
This is a personal interpretation of The Last of Us main theme, composed by Gustavo Santaolalla. A haunting melody that has always felt like home to my emotions.
It was recorded at the close of day, in that quiet moment when light fades and music becomes the only language that still makes sense.
I played it twice — first on a Framus 00301 parlor acoustic guitar, handmade in Bavaria in 1973 and fitted with Elixir Nanoweb 11–52 (80/20 Bronze) strings. Then again on a Dieter Hopf Gran Concierto classical guitar, a custom floating-bridge model from the 1960s, strung with Savarez Alliance Cantiga 510AR.
Same melody. Same heart. But each guitar told it differently — like two people retelling the same story, each from their own memory.
This isn’t a performance. I’m not a professional. Just a self-taught amateur, playing for the joy of it — for the way old wood and strings sometimes say what words can’t.
It’s not a demo. Just a quiet memory I didn’t want to lose.
