The number of Australian children who don't ever enrol in mainstream education, or do attend but then leave, has doubled in the last five years.

Many families are embracing a different kind of learning. It's most commonly known as home schooling, but now terms like un-schooling or, if you've got enough money, world-schooling are also being added to the vocabulary.
