広島県竹原市で平成15年から続く竹灯りイベント
竹原市の一番大きなイベントで毎年30,000人以上が集まります。
江戸時代の町並みが今もなお残り、重要伝統的建造物群保存地区にも指定された「たけはら町並み保存地区」を舞台としたイベントで数千本の竹灯篭から溢れるろうそくの灯りが町全体を幻想的に彩ります。
地元の団体が作った竹オブジェも必見です！
Bamboo Lantern Event in Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture since 2003
It is the biggest event in Takehara City, attracting more than 30,000 people every year.
The event is held in the Takehara Townscape Preservation District, where the Edo period townscape still remains and is designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, and the entire town is fantastically decorated by the candlelight from the 5,000 bamboo lanterns.
The bamboo objet d'art made by local groups is also a must-see!
