Sailor Reacts to: ‘All is Lost’

Rotten Tomatoes gives this film a 94% - I totally agree with that score from an artistic point of view .

If you separate criticism of the technical content from the wonderfully powerful storyline of one person’s fight to survive against the odds, then it is easy to love Redford’s character’s tenacity and gritty stoicism.
IF you analyze the sailing aspect though, the choices the character makes, his implementation of those choices and the impossible physics of his boat and it’s equipment … a different film emerges.
Having now watched this film I would say the actual storyline is one of a desperately unskilled person, with no proper safety equipment or training who has reached the limit of what luck can help him with who’s only methodology to survive is relying on movie-lot impossibilities.

My score agrees with Rotten Tomatoes - 94% for artistry.
6% for seamanship.
