A central concept is to become "dead while alive" (ਜੀਵਤ ਮਿਰਤਕ), which means "dying" to the ego ("ਹਉ ਮੂਆ") and worldly desires [08:23, 10:03].

When this ego dies, the individual mind merges with the Divine, which is the only state of true peace ("ਅਨੰਦ") [10:12].
