I played this cover of Hotel California, by the Eagles, using my Ibanez SR400 bass plugged into an Ampeg Micro CL amp. For the backing track, I used an original live recording of the band with the bass removed. To record my bass I used two methods. I used a Shure SM57 to record the amp signal, and a Behringer ULTRA-DI to record the direct signal from my bass. Both the microphone and the DI were plugged into my Behringer UMC 404 audio interface. To play the backing track, and mix both bass signals, I used Ableton Live 10. To mitigate phase impedance between the two signals I used a high pass filter on the amplifier signal to isolate the frequencies above 100Hz, and I used a low pass filter to isolate the frequencies below 100Hz on the DI signal.
