Barry Corbin! Always working…any which way he can! YELLOWSTONE! Clint Eastwood! John Travolta!

Barry Corbin made his feature film debut in URBAN COWBOY in 1980 and hasn’t stopped working since! From lending his charm and humor to that John Travolta Texas classic, Barry has appeared in over 300 films and TV shows, including 110 episodes as one of the stars of NORTHERN EXPOSURE. He can do it all...and does!

As a storyteller, he's one of the best. His memories of working in our very competitive business are both thoughtful and hysterical. From his home outside Fort Worth, Texas, RJ and I joined Barry to kick back and talk about everything from watching Ben Johnson ride across Monument Valley when he was just a kid going to the movies, to working with actor/director Clint Eastwood in two films including Clint’s blockbuster comedy, ANY WHICH WAY YOU CAN, all the way up to being sort of good luck charm working multiple times with writer/producer/director/actor Taylor Sheridan in YELLOWSTONE and TULSA KING.

This is the first of several A WORD ON WESTERNS episodes featuring Barry. He’s just got so many good stories we just kept the cameras rolling. And when the camera got too hot…we kept the audio going and shot some of the video for this interview with RJ’s iPhone. See if you can spot where that happens. Not only has he worked multiple times with Tommy Lee Jones as an actor, Barry's been directed by the Oscar and Emmy winner, too, and shares stories of what it was like. He even had time to share some of the adventures he had during his time on ANGER MANAGEMENT with Charlie Sheen.
