Medicine Grizzly Lake is located on the east side of Glacier National Park between the popular areas of Saint Mary and Two Medicine. This video also discusses the origin of the name the lake "Medicine Grizzly" that comes from a legendary tale of the Blackfeet.
This lake and trailhead can be accessed from the Cut Bank Road. This 13 to 14 mile out and back hike uses parts of the Pitamakan Pass trail, the Triple Divide Pass trail and the Medicine Grizzly trail. The Lake itself sits beneath Triple Divide Peak (the hydrological apex of North America), Razoredge Mountain, and Medicine Grizzly Mountain. This route is in a less traveled part of Glacier which is a great thing for those of us seeking solitude in the park. Montana Cheers!
