In this video, we will discuss a somewhat advanced topic in Control Systems, which is the Two Degrees of Freedom PID Controller Design. Ordinary way of control is using one controller, which will give you just one degree of freedom. Using two controller in a specific configuration, you can create more freedom in your controller design.
First, we will give a brief introduction about Two Degrees of Freedom PID Controller Design. We will discuss some configuration for extra degree of freedom. Using zero-placement approach, we will make the steady-state error zero for step, ramp, and acceleration reference. Finally, we will demonstrate how to configure this system and generate plots in MATLAB.
