The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 was brought in to protect children from a variety of sexual offenses such as sexual assault, sexual harassment, and pornography, and to protect children’s interests by incorporating a child-friendly system for investigations, and expediting cases through special courts. In the decade since, has the law been effectively implemented on the ground? Is there a need for a relook at some of its provisions? How can the law be made more child friendly?
In the fifth episode of ThePrint's #Lawsoftheland, Prof Avaantika Chawla, Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Law School, answers all these questions and more, with Bhadra Sinha and Apoorva Mandhani.
Correction: At 0:29 minutes, it should be 14th November and not 14th February
