On February 20th, the Bioinfo4Women program at BSC hosted Researcher Scientist Ana Rojas Mendoza (CABD, CSIC) as a guest, with her talk titled Decoupling Function from Evolutionary Conservation using Protein Language Models. Bioinfo4Women is an initiative from the Life Sciences Department at the BSC to promote the research done by women in computational biology, with special focus on their transition from postdoc to junior independent positions. B4W supports researchers in computational biology by promoting the exchange of knowledge and experience of outstanding women researchers through activities such as seminars, conferences, training opportunities, and mentorships. B4W seeks to give greater visibility to the contribution of women in different fields of biology, with a particular focus on the areas of personalized medicine, bioinformatics and HPC. Ultimately, B4W aims at building a more collaborative, supportive, and equal scientific community that benefits society as a whole.
