✨ Exercise of the Week: Teeter-Totter
This fun and challenging movement helps integrate the Symmetrical Tonic Neck Reflex (STNR) while building essential skills like motor planning, balance, and upper body strength.
It’s a great addition to your reflex integration routine, especially for kids who need support with posture, body coordination, and transitions between movements.
✅ Positive Signs:
• Holds body up using hands and heels
• Elbows, knees, and hips extend together smoothly
• Head stays upright with control and balance
🚫 Negative Signs:
• Cannot lift or hold body up
• Struggles to balance or keep head upright
• Constantly collapses or falls out of position
Try adding a ball on the lap and letting it roll to the feet as the hips lift, it’s a great way to add engagement and visual feedback!
We’ll be back next week with a new Exercise of the Week to keep building those brain-body connections.
