Playing Les Cyclopes by Jean-Philipp Rameau in my living room on my French double Grand Ravalement made by Titus Crijnen. This is nothing more than testing (and stressing) myself with a piece that I have never played in concerts before. Hope to get better at playing it until the concert in 2 weeks. Hope to inspire other players too to explore more of the variability of registrations in the piece. I love playing the second couplet like a real Pièce Croisée on separate keyboards creating a sound-world as if two harpsichords would be played simultaneously. Playing the right hand long and the left short and crisp is a great effect. I think it is similar to what Charles Avison describes as "pleasing thrill", when neighbouring notes are held together on the harpsichord.
The recording was made by a cellphone put on my bookshelf.
