Around 12,000 years ago, our ancestors lived as hunter-gatherers. They made tools from stone, wood, and bone, wore clothes from animal hides, and survived by hunting, fishing, and gathering plants.
But slowly, everything changed. People discovered farming — saving the best seeds, growing crops like wheat and barley in the Middle East, and later cultivating vegetables. With farming came the first domesticated animals: sheep, goats, cows, pigs, and donkeys. This shift provided food, milk, wool, and labor.
The transition from caves and nomadic life to permanent settlements also created new crafts: spinning, weaving, pottery, and basketry. Thousands of years later, humans began working with metals like copper, gold, silver, and bronze.
This video clearly explains the origins of farming and the rise of early societies — perfect for students, teachers, and anyone curious about how humanity’s way of life was transformed forever.
