Vets on farm perform a basic clinical examination of cattle that are ill, as this will guide them to identifying what needs further investigation. This video demonstrates how to perform a basic general clinical exam in cattle. This includes observation, history taking and examination of the gastrointestinal & cardiorespiratory system, mucous membranes, lymph nodes, body temperature, head, and oral cavity. It also demonstrates the Wither’s pinch, and how to check for a displaced abomasum and edema.
