The Police - Lazarus Rises! (New Single 2026 © FYYC!😊)

A new single from The Police in 2026! Is that right? Really yes! But also not quite... We love and miss the boys immensely, so here's a creative attempt at new material!

First things first: this song is NOT created by AI. NOT the audio, NOR the video. All audio clips you hear are originally from Stewart, Andy and Sting. A huge amount of clips have been edited one by one and carefully shortened, extended, slowed down, sped up or effected, all by hand (and by ear), the old-fashioned way. At the end this massive jigsaw puzzle has been rearranged and reassembled into what you can hear as the final result: a completely 'new' Police track, the 2026 single "Lazarus Rises!" © FYYC! 😊

By dissecting and reconstructing all these bits I hope to offer a total new content format that goes beyond mere remixes, but still serves the longing core fanbase of all you Police-nutters worldwide!
True fans will likely recognize familiar sounds, rythms and snippets, but perhaps many won't, so I'm very curious to read your thoughts and guesses about it in the comments 😊

In creating a typical Police sound, I tried to stay close to what I consider their best work: the first two albums. A phase characterized by high energy and magic. On this track Stewart plays his well known highly varied and versatile drum parts, Sting shines with his clear voice, and there's plenty of room for Andy's beautiful guitar work.

I've been suggesting for a few years that the guys could easily do something creative with each other's material. Rearranging some of each other's (solo) tracks could provide inspiration or give an idea of ​​what "new Police material" might sound like these days... But as the years go by and the guys aren't getting any younger, I don't think they're interested in an experiment like this anymore. So if anyone ever wants to try this idea, it should probably happen NOW, and that should probably be ME...

So here it is! It took me a really long time to figure this out. But it's definitely also a lot of fun to hear (and see) what comes out of such a creative endeavor. More important however is what you - Police nutters around the world - think of it. So please let me know in the comments. Listen a few times before judging though. Cause, unlike remixes of classics, new material always asks a little time to have a happy landing between everyone's ears...😊

And yes: of course it would be even more fun if the guys reviewed their new single themselves! 😊 That would be hilarious, and naturally they're welcome to do so. If not, they can always contact me otherwise. We'll see...

The Police and the rise of Lazarus? Yes! Of course this song has to deal about finding strength and rebirth from profound wounds, and the transforming of pain into creative power. Strength and growth can emerge from personal suffering. The wound itself gives power, and the process of dealing with the injury is about transformation: "from the wound a lovely flower grew"..!

With the video I tried to match the energetic vibe of the song. Creating this tailored suit was also quite a puzzle.
