An-24 Skids Off Runway During Take-Off in Russia

On January 24, 2025, an Antonov An-24 passenger plane skidded off the runway during take-off in the village of Nelkan, Khabarovsk Krai, Russia.
The aircraft, carrying 23 passengers, experienced engine issues during take-off acceleration. Despite attempts to abort the take-off, the plane overran the runway by approximately 30 meters.
Fortunately, no fatal injuries were reported, but the Russian aviation authority, Rosaviatsia, has launched an investigation into the incident.
