The ICOMOS General Assembly 2023 will welcome heritage professionals from across the world to share skills and experiences, debate contemporary heritage issues, discuss innovative practices and pose outcomes for the future of heritage.
The Blue Mountains will be a feature of the GA as delegates will have the opportunity to spend a day experiencing this wonderful area. The unique plants and animals that live here relate an extraordinary story of the evolution of Australia’s unique eucalypt vegetation and its associated communities of plants and animals. It is an area of breathtaking views, rugged tablelands, sheer cliffs, deep inaccessible valleys and swamps. The Greater Blue Mountains is a place of immense cultural value to the Darug, Darkinjung, Gundungarra, Tharawal, Wonnarua, and Wiradjuri people. Hear from Aunty Sharyn Halls, a Gundungurra Elder as she explains what makes this national park so special.
Blue Mountains National Park is managed by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, a Strategic Partner of the GA2023. Please visit at our website for more information https://icomosga2023.org
