Reactive Dog Owners: Stop Overlooking THIS Game-Changer!

Management is one of the least favorite topics of dog owners starting out with working on reactivity ... but without management in place, you will not be successful!

A big reasons why reactivity can be hard to fix in dogs is that they constantly rehearse reactive outbursts.
Every time they encounter another dog on a walk ... they flip out.
Every time they hear the delivery driver pull up ... they flip out.
Every time they see someone walking by the window ... they flip out.

And all these incidents build up to a really ingrained reactivity response!

In order for our training to be effective, we have to implement management strategies. This means: changing the environment so that the dog is no longer constantly pushed over their threshold.
This could for example be: utilizing baby gates and exercise pens; keeping your dog on a leash in the yard; only walking in areas where you won't encounter many other dogs or covering your window.

While this feels initially inconvenient to many dog owners, it WILL make a big difference in the long term! Management means investing a bit of effort now ... and seeing MAJOR results in exchange.
