In this video I get back to the farm to check on the colonies food stores. I ended up putting some dry sugar on the top bars, utilizing the feeder shim I put there in November. Beekeeper and Farmer enjoy good conversation as these ladies get attended to. With the cold weather as you get into some of these hives and pop the inner cover, it can sometimes make quite a cracking sound. On the second hive is a prime example of the sound, as well as their reaction. I could have reduced the sound by placing my hand on the top, but a little late on this one, and the ladies let me know.
