At the Hydrogen Technology Expo in Hamburg, Donaldson showcased its advanced purification and filtration systems designed for hydrogen applications. Michael Maas, Territory Manager for Industrial Gases DACH, explained how Donaldson's equipment purifies hydrogen immediately after electrolysis by removing humidity, oxygen, and particulates. This ensures the hydrogen is clean, dry, and suitable for applications like fuel cells. A key feature of their solution is its ability to operate without any hydrogen loss, making it highly efficient and reliable.
Korneel de Rudder, Product Manager for Hydrogen Fuel Cells, highlighted Donaldson’s balance-of-plant components that support fuel cell systems. This includes intake air filtration, water separation, coolant ion exchange, and high-pressure hydrogen filtration. Donaldson focuses on durability, modularity, and sustainability, designing repairable and recyclable systems that meet the growing demand for clean energy. With a focus on large-scale systems for heavy transportation, Donaldson is leading innovations to ensure reliability, efficiency, and environmental sustainability in hydrogen fuel cell applications.
