Our speaker is Beatriz Noriega Ortega, Project Officer at the European Citizen Science Association and hosted by Vanessa Mignan as well as Jamie Bell.
The theme of the discussion was Inclusive Practices in Citizen Science exploring experiences of what has worked or not to ensure inclusion in the CS context.
Summary: The European Citizen Science Association (ECSA) is a membership organisation set up in 2014, whose main goals are to increase the democratisation of science, encourage the growth of citizen science in Europe, and support the participation of the general public in research processes ⎯ across the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and the arts.Beatriz Noriega Ortega has worked in academia, as science communicator, and as the organizer for Soapbox Science Berlin. She is alumni of an International Max-Planck Research School and has worked since 2010 in international and interdisciplinary environments. She has been an advocate for diversity and inclusion in academia and beyond.
