Anne Lister Birthday Week (April 2022) in Halifax was a celebration of the 19th century diarist Anne Lister. As the custodians of the Shibden Hall archive, which includes Anne Lister's diaries and other records, we hosted a number of events throughout the week to celebrate this iconic figure.
We also opened our new exhibition 'Anne Lister - In Her Words' at the West Yorkshire History Centre, Wakefield. The exhibition is on until April 2023 and is a unique chance to see archival material from the Shibden Hall collection including Anne’s famous diaries on display.
