From our Women in STEM TV series meet Dr. Shailalaja Venkatsubramanyan. She is Associate Professor Emeritus, School of Information Systems and Technology, San Jose State University in Silicon Valley.
Prof Shai as her students called her shares how her path to studying computer science happened an interesting and unexpected way. As a young girl she was interested in math and science and thought of pursuing an engineering degree. Instead she ended up studying commerce. But then something happened during her graduate studies where she ended up taking a computer science class and that opened up a whole new world for her.
Prof Shai shares an interesting connection that her family has to the famous mathematician Ramanujam. You will have to tune in to find out about this connection and more.
