Big Walnut (12-1) vs Anderson (13-0) - D2 Football State Semi-Final

The Big Walnut Golden Eagles (12-1) return to the OHSAA D2 Football State Final-Final in style, after knocking off a tough Massillon Washington team last week that came down to the last play to secure their second consecutive Regional Championship. They’ll face the familiar foe of the Anderson Raptors of Cincinnati (13-0) in a rematch after the Raptors stopped Big Walnut short of a State Championship appearance just a year ago before dropping to Avon in the title game.

Defense will be the question tonight, as both teams host explosive offenses that have produced high scores week in and week out. The Raptors are led by a talented core of defensive backs, but at the heart of it lies junior back Ace Alston (43 Tackles, 2 INTs), one of the most highly sought after recruits in the state according to 247Sports. The front seven of Big Walnut have been successful in creating 5 shutouts this year, but will be uniquely tested against the pass-dominated offense of Anderson. Senior Linebacker Will Clawson (72 Tackles, 4 TFL) will look to use his crushing strength to block up the middle to ensure Golden Eagle success
