KAWASAKI ZX7R BUILD PART #3 | REBUILD BEGINS | BASIC MAINTENANCE

Welcome to part #3! Time to start the rebuild process. In this video we do basic maintenance to get started. It's just boring stuff but it is much needed!

Please be patient with me as we await our new parts to come in! I have been trying to put out one video per week to keep everyone in the loop with the build. As you'll see at the end of the video, more parts come in every day. But some parts need to be installed before others so unfortunately it's just a waiting game for parts.

Welcome to the start of ANOTHER ZX7R video series. If you are a returning visitor to my channel, the ZX7R might look familiar. That is because I have started a ZX7R series before in the past. That series didn't turn out to well as the bike I chose to rebuild had serious engine issues. You can see in my other videos I dropped the engine and started the tear down process, only to be stopped by lack of knowledge. I did what I could but ultimately I was not able to finish that project. Still having the itch to add a ZX7R to my collection i was able to pick up this one for a great deal.

Although it looks "decent" in the video, it very much needs an overhaul. Here's a little about the bike:
40,000 miles
aftermarket Chinese fairings
intermittent starting issues
general maintenance and TLC needed
hot start problems
coolant leaks

I am unsure if I should label this series as a "bike rebuild". Having done so in the past with other bikes, many people disagreed with that title because I didn't perform an "engine modifications". Or "you didn't rebuild the whole bike". Well to me, being a beginner, this is what a bike rebuild looks like to me. This is not a "full motorcycle restoration" where I touch every nut and bolt. Simply put, this is one of my dream motorcycles that I will build MY WAY! I will not be going all OEM. I would like to build it exactly how I have it envisioned in my head!

Well, it's time to revive the 90's. Who's ready? :)
