Marble has been quarried in Dorset since 1785. Marble was used locally, but also sent to Washington, DC, New York City and Montreal. The quarry closed after a century of use and is now a popular swimming hole.
This Place in History is produced in partnership by ABC 22 & FOX 44 (www.mychamplainvalley.com) and the Vermont Historical Society.
