HOW I PRACTICE SCALES INTERMEDIATE LEVEL PIANO LESSON

This video is for piano/keys players who are at the intermediate level. It is assumed you know how to correctly play at least major and minor scales with the appropriate finger numbers, that you know note values and are reasonably comfortable playing with a metronome.

I've broken down for you, precisely the way I practice scales.

Practicing scales with a metronome is essential for piano and keys players, no matter what genre you play. It's essential for developing dexterity between the hands and fingers and developing the ability to play in time. The more you spend time playing scales, the more your fingers will adapt to the piano keyboard, knowing instinctively what fingers are appropriate to use whether improvising or reading music.

Usually I start in the key of C and either move up in half steps or through the circle of 5ths.
