Many allege that science and religion are separate domains, and one says nothing that the other can describe or investigate. Science is committed to methodological naturalism, and religion is in the domain beyond the natural. Never the twain shall meet. But is that true, either philosophically or historically? Does science have anything to say about the existence or nature of the gods? Or conversely, would a world with God or gods in it look different than the world we see? Let’s compare the scientific cosmos and the image of the world imagined by theism. Dr. Aaron Adair will look into where science and religion meet, if they conflict, and if theology can actually tell us anything true about the universe.

Dr. Adair earned his PhD in physics from the Ohio State University. Currently, he is a lead data scientist in the defense sector as well as a research affiliate at MIT. He is the author of The Star of Bethlehem: A Skeptical View, currently authoring another book on aliens and religion (with Jonathan MS Pearce), and conducting research on New Testament studies, popular culture, and education.
