For this Build: This Elden Ring Build is a Dexterity Build centered around the Falx, a new Curved Sword introduced in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, and using the Curved Sword powerstance and Revenger's Blade to shred through boss health pools with successive hits and bleed.
The Falx has the same attack chain as most Curved Swords in Elden Ring, but what makes it unique is: a) it is a paired weapon meaning it gains access to the Curved Sword powerstance when two-handed b) it is only one of two Curved Swords in Elden Ring that has native bleed (unlike the Scavenger's Curved Sword, the Falx is a Somber Weapon and it is not infusible). The Falx is primarily a Dexterity weaopn with a B scaling in Dexterity (scaling value: 90) and does have alright Strength scaling for a D (scaling value: 54), however, I did (and would recommend) speccing into Faith instead to have access to attack buffs like Golden Vow and Howl of Shabriri.
The Unique Skill is the Revenger’s Blade, a weapon skill where the player enters a sprint and closes the gap with a powerful slash. This powerful slash can also be followed up with a heavy attack where the player will enter a reckless flurry of hacking slashes that can do an amazing amount of bleed build-up and ramp up successive hit buffs in the blink of an eye. I would like to emphasize “can”. As in, it is possible. As in it can conceivably happen under the right circumstances. Is it likely? It depends. The gap closing ability of Revenger’s Blade is really good especially because if charged, the ground the player can cover is awesome and the initial slash is pretty strong. It’s by far, the most useful aspect of Revenger’s Blade. However, regarding the follow-up flurry, this is where I have issues with Revenger’s Blade. On the one hand, if you’re going against trash mobs, bosses that can be hitstunned or have a large enough opening on a boss, it can absolutely shred. On the other hand, most bosses are not going to allow you get the full follow-up flurry attack off with impunity with this really lengthy animation. So, on the one hand, Revenger’s Blade allows the Falx to potentially outdamage and outbleed its peer, the Occult Scavenger's Curved Swords. And on the other hand, Two Scavenger’s Curved Swords set to the Occult affinity with Seppuku on an Arcane Build, even in current patches, can more safely get better, more consistent damage and bleed build-up. The only reason the Falx would definitively be used over Dual Occult Scavenger’s Curved Swords for a Bleed-based Curved Sword Build is if you were already heavily specced into Dexterity and didn’t feel like respeccing to an Arcane Build. This is especially because Dual Scavenger’s Curved set to the Occult affinity on an 80 Arcane Build will have higher base damage than the Falx on an 80 Dexterity Build. However, the Falx, and its unique skill, Revenger’s Blade are still pretty good in their own right and because it is still a paired Curved Sword that gets access to the best powerstance moveset in the game, it’s still an A tier weapon.
