Cook Inlet Getting Rowdy

One minute we were fishing in relatively calm seas (2-4 foot) out here in Cook Inlet, and the next we were getting flung about the deck by monster waves & wind. It got real nasty real fast. We didn't even finish picking the last part of our net, we just tossed it in along with the fish and got the hell out of there. It was pretty white-knuckled the whole way back, and it never slacked the whole way back to land.
At one point the waves were even breaking over the top of the cabin, my captain estimated that we were in 12 foot seas. A couple of times it even felt as if we were going to roll the boat, but my captain assured me it can handle even bigger seas. Nevertheless, I was glad to get off the ocean that day, I'm just glad we didn't have any mechanical difficulties out there, things could have gotten very bad for us.
