This weekend, I'm trimming a lovely tall jar with a stepped lid, but the initial focus is sorting out an irritating teething issue I've been developing... my fault due to poor throwing. I've incorrectly been leaving a very strong throwing ring towards the base of the pot, which means when I trim the vessel, a thin spot is created that ultimately buckles when fired, or it even collapse. So, in this video I'm sorting that, whilst also discussing the entire process of trimming a shape like this.
Apologies for the laboured narration — I've had a week in bed and speaking has been a struggle.
Thanks for watching!
