Palpatine was always there to comfort Anakin and feed him lies where as Obi-Wan was hardly around for the boy. Anakin felt he had no one to turn to besides Palpatine, especially after Obi-Wan had agreed with the council that Anakin was not ready, and after Obi-Wan was the one to ask him to spy in the first place. He felt betrayed by the counsil, by his Master, and Palpatine was the only person he didn't feel betrayed by.

With his worries of Padme's death, he became confused and too emotional to think clearly, and this is why he walked into Palpatine's hands. Palpatine was the one who was always there to tell Anakin what he wanted to hear, so Anakin believed that Palpatine always told him the truth. Palpatine eventually kept feeding Anakin dark lies and introduced him to the dark side and told him how the dark side could save Padme's life. He seduced Anakin to the dark side- maniuplated his mind, misguided him and took advantage of his weaknesses. These weaknesses were the very reasons why the Jedi believed him not to be ready and mature enough yet.

Anakin turned Palpatine in when he found out that Palpatine was a Sith, but when he found Master Windu trying to murder Palpatine, something inside of him snapped. His fear took over and he didn't like the fact that Master Windu was going against the Jedi code and was about to murder Palpatine without trial, and realizing that he needed Palpatine to save Padme, he killed Master Windu. And only after realizing what he had done, he panicked and knew that he had no choice but to join Palpatine to save Padme and his own life. In the end, he believed the Jedi were evil, especially after Master Windu tried to kill Palpatine (he didn't like how the Jedi was going against the code or something), and he stayed on Palpatines side.
