Hey everybody! Journey into the heart of Byzantium with Constantinople in our last big track of the year! ⚔️
For this piece we leaned heavily into choirs... a lot of choirs... alongside zithers, dulcimer, oud, and even a few viola da gambas, because why not. This will be the last big standalone track of the year; we’ve got a couple of album releases coming over the break, and then we’ll be diving back in hard in the new year. 💪🏼
Thank you to everyone who’s continued to support the channel, especially through a rough patch with the algorithm, it genuinely means a lot. 🙏🏻 Wishing you all an amazing Christmas break, hopefully spent with family and people you love. All the best from us here at Fantasy Meditations, and Merry Christmas. 🎄❄️🎁

📜 Constantinople 📜
Been waiting for this one for a while guys. Constantinople was the capital of the Byzantine Empire and the most powerful city in the eastern Mediterranean throughout the medieval period, positioned strategically between Europe and Asia on the Bosporus Strait. Protected by the massive Theodosian Walls, it served as a political, military, and economic stronghold, controlling trade routes between the Black Sea, the Mediterranean, and the Silk Road. The city was a center of Orthodox Christianity, imperial administration, and classical learning, preserving Roman law and Greek scholarship long after the fall of the Western Roman Empire. Despite periods of siege, decline, and occupation, most notably the Fourth Crusade in 1204—Constantinople remained a dominant imperial capital until its conquest by the Ottomans in 1453.
