The SS John W Brown Liberty Ship is one of only a few remaining operating steamships with a triple expansion engine. This technology dates from the 1880's and was used on the Titanic. This ship was built in Baltimore in 1942 along with 383 others. The Bethlehem-Fairfield Shipyard set a world record for the number of ships built in one yard of one class in just over 3 years. This engine is a Worthington, made in Harrison NJ.
