Starbucks Mocha Iced Coffee Recipe

How to Make Espresso without a Machine:

INGREDIENTS:

--For the Drink:
3/4 cup milk (see note)
1 shot espresso
1 1/2 tablespoons chocolate syrup (see note)
3/4 cup ice cubes

--For the Whipped Cream:
3 tablespoons heavy cream
2 teaspoons sugar
1/16 teaspoon (just a few drops) vanilla extract

HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE SYRUP:

--Ingredients
1 1/4 to 1 1/2 cups water (see note)
1 cup sugar
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

--Instructions
Place the water, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, whisking often.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Pour the syrup into a heat proof, airtight container. Allow to cool to room temperature, then store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

--Notes
If you use the smaller amount of water, the syrup will be more flavorful, but it won't pour as easily.
