This is the former fire station on Pilgrim Street in Newcastle. It was built in 1934 and is a grade 2 listed building. It has 7 fire engine garages. To the back of the building are the old flats that the fire men's families lived in, although the whole place has been gutted there were some nice walkways around the flats. Going underground there is a long tunnel walkway which leads to a huge space, which looks like it could have been an old bomb shelter. The site is currently under construction to turn it into a hotel and restaurant, it will be a brilliant addition to newcastle.
