A Day in My Life Teaching Journalism in the Philippines

This video is a full circle moment for me! 🤍

Coming back to teach campus journalism—sharing what I’ve learned, listening to young voices, and watching students write, think, and participate—reminded me why I fell in love with this craft in the first place.

This workshop is especially close to my heart because it is the first journalism workshop I independently planned and facilitated on my own. Standing in front of student journalists not just as a former campus writer, but as a mentor leading the space, made this experience deeply meaningful.

The workshop was purely educational, created to encourage critical thinking, storytelling, and responsible journalism among student writers. What you’ll see here are moments of learning, writing exercises, and shared conversations—captured with care and intention.

All filming and photography were done with proper consent and in a respectful, supervised environment. No sensitive personal information is shared, and this video is published in good faith to document and advocate for journalism education and youth literacy in the Philippines.
