From bottle-feeding her as a tiny cub to swimming together for over 30 years, their relationship defies everything we think we know about wild animals. Agee became not only Mark’s closest companion, but also a movie star — appearing in the film Alaska (1996), as well as countless commercials and documentaries.
But when Mark's health began to decline, he had to make the hardest decision of his life: saying goodbye. In 2022, Agee was relocated to Assiniboine Park Zoo, where she now lives safely and comfortably — but their bond remains unbreakable.
