They called him the White Death. Simo Häyhä was a Finnish farmer who became the deadliest sniper in history — killing over 500 Soviet soldiers in just 100 days during the Winter War.
Armed with only a Mosin Nagant rifle and iron sights, Häyhä defended the Kollaa front against overwhelming Soviet forces. No scope. No special equipment. Just a small man from Rautjärvi who had learned to shoot while hunting in the Finnish wilderness.
The Soviets sent their best counter-snipers to eliminate him. They failed. They called artillery strikes on his suspected positions. He survived. They offered bounties for his head. He kept shooting.
On March 6, 1940, an explosive bullet finally found him — destroying half his face. He woke from a coma on the same day the war ended. He had done what seemed impossible: one man holding the line against an empire.
This is the true story of Simo Häyhä, the greatest sniper who ever lived.
