Due to the rapid increase of the aging population today, majority of people around the world can expect to live pass their sixties and beyond. In the next 30 years, the population of the people aged 60 years and above is expected to total to 2 billion. For the Senior Citizens who are expected to live in low-and-middle-income countries will experience massive shift that will result dramatic changes that will affect the society’s norms, values and attitude concerning Senior Citizens.

As a person grows older, leisure and recreational activities plays an important role as both are crucial components of a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Such activities provides Senior Citizens a sense of identity and personal autonomy which contributes to the overall well-being of an individual. It is through the Senior Centers, which are designated as a community focal point, that Senior Citizens can achieve a high chance of successful aging.

This study covers the importance and benefits of Senior Citizens being actively engaged in leisure and recreational activities. It was composed of different variety of activities that will cater to a diversity of interests, strength, and abilities. The proponent conceptualized an architectural solution that will create a platform for Senior Citizens while helping them retain their independence and sense of value.
