Brotato is a top-down arena shooter roguelite where you play a potato wielding up to 6 weapons at a time to fight off hordes of aliens.
You choose from a variety of traits and items to create unique builds and survive until help arrives.

Primary stats are the primary way for your character to get stronger.
They influence how much damage you deal, how much damage you can survive, and how fast you move among other things.
Most Items in the Shop increase one or more of your primary stats at the cost of often decreasing another one.
You can also increase your primary stats by Leveling Up and choosing Upgrades.
Along with getting powerful Weapons, Primary Stats are the core way to scale into the late game.

Whenever you Level Up, you are offered the choice of 4 different Upgrades that increases one of your Primary Stats.
Upgrades come in 4 Tiers, with higher tiers giving more stats. You can read about the chances of each rarity below.

Upgrades are a great way to get a particular stat that you are looking for, as you can reroll the offered options multiple times and have a good chance of finding exactly what you are looking for.

Weapons are the primary way for your character to deal damage to the Enemy Aliens.
Weapons are primary damage dealers. They can be Melee or Ranged. Melee weapons are swung or thrusted into the enemies, hitting all in their path.
Ranged weapons shoot projectiles, which can only hit one enemy.
Projectiles can gain Bounce and Piercing to hit more. Ranged weapons typically have higher single target dps and attack faster.

Most Characters can hold up to 6 weapons. Some exceptions are One Armed, who can only hold 1, Multitasker, who can hold 12, Bull, who cannot use weapons

Weapons come in 4 different tiers. Some weapons have a minimum tier that they can appear as. If you have two identical weapons of the same tier, you can combine them into one weapon of one higher tier.
